This project received the ACEC ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE HONOR AWARD 2010.

Congratulations to Dave Robinson Architects for their contribution to the ACEC-Utah 2010 Honor Award.

The owner of Ace Disposal was growing out of his existing facility and wanted a state of the art facility utilizing many green systems which Dave Robinson Architects designed into Ace Disposals new headquarters. Radiant floor heating / cooling, sun shades on the exterior windows, R32.5 insulation on the roof areas plus recycled concrete for the majority of fill materials are all green items which were incorporated into this facility.

"This project was very exciting for all the people we had working on this building because it was newer technology and challenges. Our Hydronic Geo-Exchange System was probably one of the largest challenges because it called for 17 miles of underground piping that needed to be properly surveyed and installed. Calculated planning between Benchmark and SMD allowed us to plumb one of the most advanced hydronic geo-exchange systems in the Midwest, capable of reducing energy needs by 20-40%." - Matt Stalsberg
